Hei te Hepetema 25-27 ka tū te hui taumata o Te Wānanga Ihorangi, ko tētahi o ngā kaikōrero ko Te Hira Paenga, ka kōrerotia tana tuhinga Kairangi - Te Atuatanga Me Te Kapa Haka. Ka hui mai ko ētahi atu kaikōrero, ka tūhuratia ngā waiata, me ngā hīmene, ngā haka me ngā mōteatea, me te kōrero i ngā wheako me ngā āhuatanga e tuitui haere ana i te whakapono me ngā mahi kapa haka.

This September 25-27, Te Wānanga Ihorangi will host our inaugural three-day Hui Taumata symposium, featuring Te Hira Paenga and his recently completed PhD Towards a Model of Theology in Māori Performing Arts | Te Atuatanga Me Te Kapa Haka. Alongside other expert panellists and speakers, we will explore how waiata, hīmene, haka and mōteatea have carried the stories and experiences of whakapono throughout different hāhi and iwi.

The symposium is a full-immersion context and all kaikōrero will be sharing in the medium of te reo Māori.

Te Wānanga Ihorangi is a whakapono-based Māori language school in Henderson, Waitākere. Our programmes, kura reo, and media content are dedicated to the reclamation, preservation, and revitalisation of te reo Māori in Aotearoa.
