The inaugural three-day Hui Taumata symposium, hosted by Te Wānanga Ihorangi this September, will feature Te Hira Paenga and his newly completed PhD on “Towards a model of Theology in Māori Performing Arts | Te Atuatanga Me Te Kapa Haka.” This symposium will bring together expert panelists to explore how waiata, hīmene, haka, and mōteatea have carried the stories and experiences of Māori Christian faith across various hāhi and iwi. Conducted entirely in te reo Māori, the event promises a full-immersion experience, with speakers from diverse perspectives across the motu.
