ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM
This September, Te Wānanga Ihorangi will host our inaugural three-day Hui Taumata symposium, featuring Te Hira Paenga and his recently completed PhD Towards a model of Theology in Māori Performing Arts | Te Atuatanga Me Te Kapa Haka.
Alongside expert panelists, we will explore how waiata, hīmene, haka and mōteatea have carried the stories and experiences of Māori Christian faith and expression throughout different hāhi and iwi.
The symposium is a full-immersion context and all kaikōrero will be sharing in the medium of te reo Māori.

- Q: Can I bring my tāmariki?
- A: Unfortunately, we are unable to provide tickets for tāmariki (except for breastfed babies who are welcome).
- Q: I have dietary requirements, can you cater for these?
- A: Yes, please let us know at time of ticket purchase.
- Q: I can only make certain days/times, can I buy a single-day ticket?
- A: We are only offering 3 day tickets this year.
- Q: Do I need a physical ticket to get into the event?
- A: No, we will have a list of all ticket-purchasers at the door.
- Q: What is ticket refund policy?
- A: Unless the event is cancelled due to unforseen reasons, tickets are non-refundable.
- Q: What is the schedule for the days?
- A: The schedule will be made available at a closer date.
- Q: What is the cost for a ticket?
- A: We have tried to keep the ticket prices as affordable as possible, therefore there are two rates for our tickets. Individual at $150 (If you are paying), corporate rate at $250 (If your workplace is paying, eg. professional development).
